How PDF Ghost Works
PDF Ghost uses advanced fingerprinting technology to create unique copies of your PDF for each recipient:
- Upload - You upload your original PDF document
- Add Recipients - Provide a list of email addresses or names for recipients
- Fingerprint - PDF Ghost creates unique copies with invisible marks for each recipient
- Distribute - Download individual PDFs or bulk download all copies
- Detect - If a leak occurs, upload the suspicious PDF to identify the source

Jobs
A "job" represents a single PDF document being fingerprinted for multiple recipients. Each job contains:
- The original source PDF
- Recipient information
- Fingerprinting settings
- Generated artifact PDFs
Artifacts
An "artifact" is a fingerprinted copy of your PDF created for a specific recipient. Each artifact:
- Contains invisible fingerprints unique to that recipient
- May include visible watermarks (optional)
- Can be traced back if leaked
Leak Checks
If you discover a leaked document, you can upload it to PDF Ghost to:
- Extract the embedded fingerprint
- Identify the original recipient
- View the job and distribution history
